Install CruzeTVX on Android TV & Google TV

Install CruzeTVX on Android TV, Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast or an Android TV box. Stream 3000+ South Asian live channels plus 10,000+ movies and series. Full setup guide.

About 8 minutes · 5 steps

Android TV and Google TV are the most flexible platforms for CruzeTVX, because they support both a normal store install and sideloading. That covers everything from a Chromecast with Google TV to an Nvidia Shield to the generic Android TV boxes many households already own. This guide covers both routes.

What you'll need

  • An Android TV or Google TV device (Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Android TV box, or a Sony/TCL/Philips Android TV)
  • A Google account signed in on the device
  • An internet connection — 10 Mbps or better for HD
  • An active CruzeTVX subscription

Step-by-step installation

  1. Step 1: Check your device is online

Open Settings > Network & Internet and confirm the device is connected. On boxes that support it, a wired Ethernet connection gives the steadiest playback for live TV.

  2. Step 2: Try the Google Play Store first

Open the Play Store from the home screen, search for 'CruzeTVX', and install it if it appears. This is the simplest route and keeps the app updating automatically. If it is not listed for your region or device, continue to the next step.

  3. Step 3: Enable unknown sources for sideloading

Go to Settings > Device Preferences > Security & Restrictions > Unknown Sources and enable the app you will download with — usually Downloader or the Files app. This is only needed if you are installing the APK directly.

  4. Step 4: Download and install the APK

Install Downloader from the Play Store, open it, and enter the CruzeTVX APK address from the official downloads page. Press Go, then choose Install when the file finishes downloading.

  5. Step 5: Sign in and set up your profile

Launch CruzeTVX, sign in with your subscription email and password, and set up profiles if several people share the device. Parental controls are available in the app settings.

If something goes wrong

The app is not in the Play Store on my device

Play Store availability varies by region and device certification. Use the sideloading route in steps 3 and 4 — it produces exactly the same app.

Remote navigation feels wrong or buttons do nothing

Some generic Android TV boxes ship with remotes that report unusual key codes. Pairing a standard Bluetooth remote, or using the Google TV phone app as a remote, resolves this.

The app installed but shows a black screen

Clear the app cache from Settings > Apps > CruzeTVX > Clear cache, then reboot the device. On very low-memory boxes, uninstalling unused apps frees enough RAM to fix this.

Android TV & Google TV — FAQs

Yes. Chromecast with Google TV runs the full Android TV app, either from the Play Store or sideloaded.

Yes — the Shield is one of the best devices for it, with enough processing headroom for 4K streams and a reliable Ethernet port.

Generally yes, though very low-spec boxes with 1GB of RAM may struggle with HD live TV. A Fire TV Stick 4K or Chromecast with Google TV is a reliable, inexpensive upgrade.
